The Sumatran Tiger lives in the tropical rainforests of Sumatra. This rainforest environment is really humid and filled with thick trees, which makes the forest hot. Our current tiger is really big and strong with orange fur and black stripes that help it camouflage with the forest. The tiger uses its massive claws and extreme bite force to hunt prey. The Sumatran Tigers are also very agile because they can easily climb trees and cross rivers. In the future, the Sumatran Tiger might live in a more dry area, such as a desert, because of global warming and people overhunting animals. Because of fewer animals to hunt, the Sumatran Tiger might become smaller in size to need fewer calories to survive. The tiger might also develop a higher tolerance for heat and hunt different animals that live in a drier area.
