The Jaguar lives in tropical rainforests such as the Amazon Rainforest. It lives in dense forests near rivers and swamps. Jaguars have yellow fur with black spots that help them camouflage in the forest. They also have strong jaws, sharp claws, and powerful legs that help them hunt animals and swim. These adaptations help them survive as stealthy predators in thick rainforest habitats.
In the future, climate change may make rainforests hotter and drier and reduce forest cover. Jaguars may adapt by developing lighter and thinner fur to stay cool and blend into a drier environment. They may also develop longer legs to travel farther as their habitat becomes more spread out. Behaviorally, they may hunt more at night and eat a wider variety of animals to survive if prey becomes harder to find.
