The Toco Toucan is found throughout the South American rainforests. They have black feathers and white feathers, weak wings, a large orange beak, and strong zygodactyl feet. They reside in rainforest canopies, where their dark coloration helps them blend into the shade. Their body temperature is regulated through adjusting the blood flow to their beaks. They hardly use their wings as they are weak and can't travel far with them. Keeping these details in mind, deforestation and climate change affecting their environment, turning it into a savannah-like habitat, would be detrimental to them. As a result of these changes, their once dark and saturated feathers will turn into a sandy brown color to blend in with the dry environment, their beaks will have more blood flow to it to regulate their temperature against the hot climate, and their wings would be stronger so they can travel larger distances for food.
