The animal I have chosen in a poison dart frog, and the adaptation I believe they could possible develop over 1000 years is a leaf-like tail. One reason I believe they could grow this adaption is due to the fact that they do something called backpacking. Backpacking is when these frogs attach a tadpole with a sticky mucus to their back and carry them to various wet or humid location. The mucus on their back can be deactivated by water, therefore making the tadpoles slide off their backs and die. This leaf-like tail would block water from hitting their backs protecting the tadpoles. In addition, poison dart frogs are brightly colored which warns predators that they are poisonous. This tail could provide camoflauge for the frog.
