Capybara

I chose a capybara because they look interesting and I used to like them. The environment is changing for multiple reasons, climate change, people cutting trees, Hunter animals attacking prey. In my fair opinion, I think in the next 1.000 years the Capybara can gain lots of interesting adaptations. My first idea is their fur kind of being like a reddish brown instead of fully brown, i saw an image of one being that shade so it would make sense for at least 50% of capybaras to be born as a red/ brown shade. My next thing is for all capybaras to have horns to protect themselves, since Capybaras are prey animals, they would have the horns to defend themselves, they should also have tails to swim. I think its beneficial if a predator is chasing them, they don't really need gills, they just could swim to safety.
