The hippocampus, or seahorse, is a small, aquatic creature that lives in the coastal areas of the oceans. Seahorses mostly live in vegetated areas like coral reefs, and mangrove roots. Due to overfishing and habitat destruction, caused by humans, seahorses face their main threat. Because of this, seahorses will develop wider, stronger, and faster muscles in their tail, and they will grow caudal fins. This will help seahorses swim quickly and agile to avoid threats. Seahorses will also develop more of a slimy texture and smooth skin; instead of their current rough, boney one, and features like their snout will shrink in size. This will allow seahorses to slip through smaller cracks to avoid predators, this will also allow them to be able to glide through the water faster and more effectively. These adaptations will help seahorses change with their environment, which will allow them to thrive for longer.
