The animal I have chosen to illustrate in the present day, and in the future predicted habitat is the Mountain Caribou. My present day illustration shows a mountain caribou in a dense, snowy evergreen forest, which is its current habitat. The dark brown coat and the shape of the hooves are adaptations for moving through the deep snow and foraging in the underbrush. These traits also provide camouflage. My illustration of the mountain caribou in the future shows a caribou adapted to a savanna, with a lighter coat for camouflage in the grasslands. The caribou is longer, and has more slender legs. The caribou is smaller, so it can move faster, and be more agile to escape predators.
