My vertebrae animal is the Aldabra Giant Tortoise. This animal lives in the Seychelles, which is an island in the Indian Ocean, about 1000 miles east of Africa. Right now the climate of the island is very mixed, never being too hot or too cold. However, the humidity on the island is very high, and based on current climate change rates, the temperatures will only be going up. This would cause the Aldabra Giant Tortoise to move to shadier parts of the island, to avoid heat. They would also have to be more careful in where they hatch their eggs, as to not have the majority of offspring killed. It would stay on the same island, and have a more curved shell that reaches higher, as the shell of a tortoise acts as an insulator thanks to the air in the middle of it.
