Poison dart frogs are a spectacular species. While they can be dangerous, they face their own dangers too. Habitat loss and deforestation are impacting the population of these frogs. They are brightly colored amphibians that secrete a poisonous coating through glands in their skin for self-protection. Their toxins are not produced by themselves, it depends on what they eat. In the future, I predict that they will still rely on their bright coloring, diet, and poison. Because of habitat loss, they would be more out in the open, risking danger of humans, machines, and their few natural predators. Their bright skin and toxic coating will be their only defense, so they will rely on it more than ever. This means they will need to eat more to make sure they keep producing the coating. Bright colors like striking blue and more of a diet will be developed for self-protection.
