The Yellow-Spotted River Turtle is a large, side-necked turtle known for its yellow spots. They are omnivores, live up to 70 years, and are active during the day. These aspects don’t change, other than the spot color. The future turtle has brown spots, lives in damp logs, and is nocturnal to avoid the intense heat in the sunlight. With significantly less rainfall, the turtle hides in their log. They still are omnivores, but their diet mostly consists of moss and small insects. Due to intense heat from global warming, the turtle has adapted to not being able to breathe underwater. They have also adapted to have a long, retractable tongue, much like frogs.
