In the year 102026, the rain forest is gone, and the Amazon has become a giant, hot desert. The Blue Morpho butterfly has changed completely to stay alive. It is now as big as a dog and has grown long, strong legs to run across the hot sand. Its beautiful blue color turned a yellowish-green so it can hide near desert plants. Its wings are now covered in sharp spikes that look just like a cactus. These spikes protect it from enemies and even help it catch water from the morning mist. Instead of eating fruit, this butterfly is now a hunter that catches small animals. It also uses its long nose to drink from desert flowers, helping them grow. By blending in and becoming a tough predator, the Morpho has found a way to master this dangerous, dry world.
