The sugar glider lives in the rainforest of Papua New Guinea. They have big eyes and pointy ears that help them get around at night. They have specially adapted arms and legs, and sharp claws to grip trees. Their smell is their best survival tool. They have a fluffy tail and wings that help them hunt and flee from predators.
The rainforest of Papua New Guinea will become more of a rocky savannah-like terrain. The sugar glider will have to adapt to living in underground burrows close to food, away from new predators since some animals that eat them are probably going to adapt to the tree tops. The sugar glider is going to lose a coat of fur, get stronger legs and a bigger build to become a ground hunter. They’ll have longer claws to dig burrows and spear prey. Their ears will radiate heat to keep them cool.
