Future Jesus Lizard

The Jesus lizard has lost its lush green habitat and has no trees to sleep in. It can no longer run on water, and now there are only dead shrubs, sand, and predators everywhere. Now after thousands of years they have finally evolved into Demon lizards which have evolved to be able to run away from predators with insane speed and then bury themselves in sand so predators run right past them and their hard scales protect them from predators and poisonous prey like scorpions. The nuchal crest, dorsal crest and caudal crest now all look like sand to blend in when the lizards dig since they stick out of the sand. Their body parts are not able to regenerate like other lizards even though the Jesus lizard used to be able to regenerate their tail. Demons lizards are made for this environment so it can survive and reproduce.
