Capybaras, due to ongoing habitat changes, are developing lighter fur, smaller bodies, and other structural, physiological and behavioral adaptations. Due to oncoming dryness, capybaras are developing adaptations suitable to the savannah's dry environment. As a result of the heat and dryness, capybaras are developing light fur. Due to lack of food, water, and other resources, capybaras are developing smaller bodies, as well as other behavioral changes such as migrating long distances and shifting towards a land-based lifestyle.
