The Black Caiman's habitat is changing due to climate change and deforestation, and they will be forced to adapt. Problems it will face include higher temperatures, less water and less coverage. The black caiman will grow longer legs and get scales along its body and tail to retain water and spend more time on land. It will change its snout depending on what source of food is most prevalent along with advancements in integumentary sense organs to aid in predation, and it would evolve to have stronger anti-salt glands for drinking water with a higher salt content. To combat heat it will adapt to have a smaller body over all and a lighter and greener color for blending in and reflecting more sun. Since black caimans have temperature-dependent sex determination the heat would lead to more males, to fix this black caimans would likely burry their eggs deeper.
