The Common Boa (Boa Imperator) will adapt to the future rainforest in Costa Rica. Their camouflage patterns will change to blend in with dead or dry leaves. Their skin is grayish-brown with spots and it will adapt to be lighter and more brown, getting rid of the gray, the spots will be more brown. The prey on land that the Boa imperator eats will most likely go extinct, causing hunting for more arboreal prey. Due to this, the Boa will develop more ventral scales to help grip on the trees, helping it become the Treeclimbing Boa. The snake’s skin thickness will change. Boa Imperator’s skin is two layers, the top one is harder and made to protect the Boa while the second one is to help the boa move. Both parts of the skin will thin out to trap less heat in the boas body helping survival in hotter climates.
