The poison dart frog is a small creature residing in the forest floors of the rainforests within Central and South America, with hands and feet that stick to trees, and brightly colored to warn predators of the poison that it secretes through its skin. This species is highly territorial and also happens to be carnivorous, feasting on ants, beetles, and such. However, the moist, humid habitat that is the rainforest may not last so long and will fall victim to climate change, being transformed into a dry savanna due to the increase in temperature and drop in humidity. In order to adapt, the species must develop traits such as thicker skin to retain moisture, more muted colors to hide from predators, and claws to burrow. It will also most likely have to recover shelter in rotting logs or underground burrows.
