The Brazilian squirrel usually living in humid rainforests , now has moved to the desert due to habitat fragmentation and rising temperatures. In this new environment it is predicted to become even hotter and for there to be less rain, making the animal try to survive intense water scarcity and lack of dense shade. Living here is dangerous, so to survive the squirrel will most likely evolve larger, have lighter ears to radiate body heat and to camouflage against desert sand, it will also probably have a lot less fur because of the hot climate. With a high rate of environmental, the only animals that survive are the ones that have existing genetic tolerance to heat. If this change happens in 100-150 years, the creature will probably survive. But the habitat changes in 50 years or less the species would probably go extinct because it happens too fast.
