In the rainforest, the cougar is a mammal that lives in many different environments. The many different environments a cougar can live in are the mountain regions, deserts, arid lands, forests, jungles, swamps, wetlands, grasslands, plains, and human-dominated areas. In the future, cougars (pumas, or mountain lions), could live in saltwater marshes due to climate change. The weather could get too hot for jungle organisms, so many had to migrate to different environments. One of the many animals that had to migrate was the cougar. Instead of living in the tropical rainforest now the cougar lives in the saltwater marshes. Being able to hold its breath for 7 minutes would help it breathe underwater. There would be plenty of food, and there wouldn’t be that many predators. They could also blend in with the grass.
