The rainbow boa is a super cool snake that lives in the rainforests of Central and South America. They love warm, wet places and usually stay near rivers or hide under leaves.
They get their name because of their amazing skin. Their scales are brownish with dark circles, but when the sun hits them, they glow with bright rainbow colors! This happens because their scales act like tiny prisms. They are nocturnal, which means they hunt at night using special holes on their faces.
I predict that the Rainbow Boa snake’s world will likely be defined by habitat fragmentation and the tightening grip of the exotic pet trade. The rainbow boa snake will look more like a pet snake then it did in the past. It will have more of a purple and blue color. In the future I think the Rainbow boa snake will look like a living fossil.
