In the future, climate change will take a toll on our world's rain forests, which are home to the Tapir. As temperatures rise, loss of plants and animals will occur as some species cannot adapt quick enough to the rapidly changing environment. Tapirs eat berries, twigs, and leaves off of low hanging shrubs, however, when food becomes scarce, they will help finding food higher up. Their snouts will increase in size and strength in order to get the food they need. A loss in animals also means that the predator of a Tapir will be more desperate for food. This causes the Tapirs eyes will increase in size to see danger with ease, and their coat color will change colors to match the brown, dying environment around them. Finally, their hair will become shorter and thinner in order to bear the quickly rising temperatures.
