The present Poison Dart Frog (PDT) is a common frog in the rainforest and easily identified through their vibrant skin color which is mainly from their diet, and shows how they are poisonous, but also allows them to thrive and allows them to protect themselves from predators. Future PDT’s will not be able to do this because of deforestation which is causing higher temps
around 80 degrees fahrenheit due to loss of shade. This can be deadly for PDT’s because they are not able to handle those high temperatures so they will have to adapt through tougher skin and be able to contain water in their bodies. Overall in the future, PDT’s will adapt in the future by changing to a more neutral color, changing skin to protect internal functions and finding a
new home that is safe for them.
