The Amazon River Dolphin lives in the Amazon River which is slowly changing due to climate change and human activity. The unstable farming, mining, and deforestation cause the water to become murky. River Dolphins may change from their bright, vibrant pink color, to a neutral tan, helping them camouflage. The Amazon River is also changing in temperature because of climate change, causing reduced water depth during droughts. The dolphins' large size makes it hard to maneuver through shallow waters but if they were smaller they could survive in the shallow waters. Not only is climate change increasing the temperatures of their environment but it is also increasing tidal amplitude. When this happens, the tides would get stronger so the pink dolphin would need to adapt with things like a dorsal fin, longer neck, and stronger tail which would allow them to swim faster and easier through these changing tides.
