There are many species of lemurs, one of them being Sifakas, a leaping lemur. Some lemurs live in Madagascar. Madagascar’s east is wet, west and south are dry. Madagascar has high ranged mountains across the middle.
Sadly, over 17 lemur species have gone extinct because of hunting and habitat loss. I think that in the future, many species might go extinct. This is because lemurs have been extinct from habitat loss. I think that some will survive. The ones that do survive might have to change to be ready for the hot desert. Lemurs eat fruit, leaves, flowers, nectar, shoot, insects, sap, and bark. In the desert, lemurs might need to start eating cacti. Their fur might be thicker to climb cacti.
I think if people start taking care of the rainforest, the lemurs might have a better chance of living in the rainforest. The lemurs can be saved!
