The Aye-Aye is an endangered animal in the Madagascar forests. I believe the Aye-Aye’s current adaptations will cause the Aye-Aye to have to change its diet, where it lives, and how to defend itself from predators. Aye-aye’s live in forests and swamps in Madagascar. The aye-aye lives in a hot, tropical habitat. In other words, humid rainforests. The Aye-Ayes habitat is threatened primarily by human-driven deforestation for agriculture and logging, which destroys their rainforest home. In addition, they are seen as bad omens or are killed on sight for raiding crops. Aye-aye’s have multiple adaptations for their nocturnal and arboreal lifestyle such as a long, thin middle finger for percussive foraging, large ears for listening to insect movement, ever-growing rodent like teeth for gnawing wood, large eyes for seeing in the dark, and a bushy tail for balance.
